Worldwide, there are only a few exporters of this flowering plants. However, Nigeria generates $35 million from hibiscus export in 9 months.

Hibiscuses are large shrubs or small trees that produce huge, colourful, trumpet-shaped flowers over a long season. They are an ornamental plant with great medicinal properties that help with some health issues (such as blood pressure etc.). They are fragrant, colourful flowers that you can grow and care for in your home or your backyard.

This plant is generally divided into four groups: Hardy Hibiscus, Rose of Sharon, Tropical Hibiscus, and all the various species of Hibiscus.

Uses of Hibiscus Flowers

Generally, the flowers and other parts of the plant are used to make medicine. People use hibiscus for conditions such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, increasing the production of breast milk, infect the production of breast milk, infections, and many other conditions.

In areas of northern Nigeria, this plant has been used to treat constipation, the fleshy red calyx is used in the preparation of jams, jellies, cold and warm teas, and the plant is used widely in Egypt for the treatment of cardiac and nerve diseases and has been described as a diuretic. In Iran, drinking sour tea for the treatment of hypertension is a popular practice.
